The Croatian Summer Salsa Festival is not a festival weekend. The 2026 edition ran eight days, 8 to 15 June, and it was the 22nd. The festival counts more than 5,000 dancers from over 80 countries and more than 200 hours of workshops, spread across beach floors in the afternoon and venues around Rovinj at night. Two days is an event you attend. Eight days is somewhere you briefly live.
That difference is the part a film cannot hand you. By the third day the faces start repeating. Someone you met on a beach floor at five turns up across the room at three in the morning, and by day six you are not meeting strangers any more. The town rearranges itself around the festival, and for a week you belong to it.
The word we keep coming back to is experience
We mean it plainly, not as a brochure word. An experience is the kind of thing that does not survive being described. You can hear a completely accurate account of one and still not have it. Nobody has ever been argued into understanding a festival week. You go, and then you know.
So that is the honest ceiling on everything below, our own film included. It is not a substitute for being there, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What it is instead turns out to be worth a lot.

Two jobs, and both are real. For the people who were there, it is what they reach for when someone at home asks how it was and the words come out flat. It holds the week in a form they can send. For everyone who was not there, it is the closest thing to an honest look at the week. Not a poster. The floor as it actually looked at four in the morning.
The festival ends. The footage doesn't.
We have shot this festival since 2016, so we know the week is only the first act. Rovinj gives us the film above, the vertical cut below, and a release campaign that runs about three months after everyone flies home.
The size of that rollout, from our published record of one edition: 147 short pieces cut from a single week, and 2.4M organic views on Instagram across the festival’s channels and ours. Not 147 uploads. Each one a chance for somebody to find themselves on a floor, tag the person they danced with, and start counting toward next June.
Then the footage goes back to work. It returns when tickets go on sale, when the lineup lands, when dancers start planning next summer. Some of it never stops: material shot in 2018 is still in use today.
Two formats, because the week travels two ways
Every film we deliver now ships twice. The horizontal cut is for the screen and the archive. The vertical reel is built for the feed, and it is usually the one that reaches somebody who has never been. It is not a crop of the film, it is its own edit.

The aftermovie archive runs 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and this is the seventh. Every edition has the last one to build on, and the run itself proves something no single film can.
If you want the week itself
Then the film has done its job, and the rest is not ours to sell. The next one is the 23rd edition, 7 to 14 June 2027, in the same town. Passes are sold by the festival directly. We film the week, we do not run the door.
